Clinical Neuropsychology is the bridge between the psychological and the medical providers. Clinical Neuropsychologists work with your medical doctors using testing, it is not hands on. These tests look at the different areas of your brain by using highly empirically driven measures, that can (as best as possible) isolate the various components of your brain’s functioning, then once completed, the neuropsychologist can look at the data and often be even more effective in finding out what is going on in your brain, the causes, the things that are combining with a brain injury (such as another psychiatric diagnosis) or how your surroundings impact your functioning. These are clinical questions that insurance does pay for.
